ABOUT JON

Jon first became interested in golf at the age of 16 when a friend introduced him to the sport by chipping a tennis ball at a cinder block around the yard, and by age 21 he had reduced his handicap to 2. He turned professional at 24 working at Willimantic Country Club for 7 seasons as assistant Golf Professional/Director of Instruction under Head Pro John Boucher.

Jon was employed for two years as Head Golf Professional/Director of Instruction at the Golf Training Center in Norwalk, CT until deciding to venture out and establish his own golf instruction business, Cote Golf Instruction. Jon has played in the 2002 National Club Professional Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in 2002 and has shot an impressive 62 twice in his career.

He had worked with top junior players, state champion high school players, winners on the mini tour and half a dozen men's and ladies club champions.

Above all of his personal accomplishments, Jon is best know for his ability to adjust to each individual's needs and skill level, providing them with the simplest solution to their problem. Major teaching influences have been Jim Flick, Earnest Jones, Tommy Armour and Harvey Pennick.
